IIT celebrates the 2025 IIT–UoW Graduation Ceremony, marking 35 years of excellence in British higher education in Sri Lanka. Distinguished leaders from the University of Westminster honoured graduates from the School of Computing and Business School.
Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) — Sri Lanka’s pioneer in British higher education and one of the country’s leading IT and Business campuses — proudly celebrated the IIT–University of Westminster (UoW) Graduation Ceremony 2025 on 13th November 2025 in Colombo. The event marks a significant milestone as IIT continues its 35-year legacy of academic excellence, innovation, and international collaboration.
This year’s ceremony witnessed the graduation of students from both the School of Computing and the Business School, earning globally recognised undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications awarded by the University of Westminster, United Kingdom.
2025 also marks 35 years of IIT, a landmark achievement for an institution that pioneered British degree pathways in Sri Lanka. Since its establishment in 1990, IIT has served as a transformative educational force, producing over 3,000 industry-ready graduates who continue to excel both locally and internationally.
Through world-class academic delivery, strong industry links, and real-world training, IIT has shaped leaders in IT, Business, Software Engineering, Finance, Media, and beyond.

What Makes It Special

The ceremony was honoured by distinguished leaders including Professor Peter Bonfield, Professor Dibyesh Anand, Mr. Stephen Wallis, and Dr. Mazia Yassim. Their presence further strengthened the long-standing international partnership shaping Sri Lanka’s higher education ecosystem.
